And Speaking of Double Standards...
The great weekend continues….after our monumental meeting last night, I awoke to see a great article exposing another one of our self-appointed “leaders of morality” for the hypocritical gas-bag that he is. Remember all of the tele-evangelists that would expound to us on a daily basis how we should all live, while they cruised the streets for prostitutes or diddled their secretaries? Well apparently, the man who thought himself enough of a Deity to write a book titled “The Book of Virtues”, former “drug czar” William Bennett, as well as if I’m not mistaken, “The Book of Ethics”, has a little gambling problem. As in, he’s lost $8 million doing it! The article I’ve found to post isn’t quite the same as the one in my local paper. In that article, he uses the same miserable, pathetic excuse that losers all over the world have done for centuries. You see, casino records do not adequately account for winnings…so, “Over 10 years, I’d say I’ve come out pretty close to even” he actually is quoted as saying! The same lousy excuse that your no-good uncle or worthless brother-in-law tried to use so many times. He is also quoted as saying, “I’ve gambled all my life and I’ve never considered it a moral issue.” To Mr. Bennett: Sure….that’s because YOU like to do it, douchbag! Are you aware that most people who agree with your high moral ground DO think it a moral issue? Are THEY wrong on just this one issue…because you get off doing it? Could they be wrong about others too? Could YOU?
This is the same mentality used by the U.S. in the tobacco treaty I wrote about recently. If you find a provision to be disagreeable, you’re permitted to simply disregard it! But le’me tell ya….don’t YOU try it! If YOU find something disagreeable…well it’s too friggin’ bad…obey it anyway!
And get THIS one…he ALSO says he doesn’t have a gambling problem! “I view it as drinking,” he said. “If you can’t handle it…don’t do it”. Hey Jerk-off! You lost 8 million friggin’ dollars! I think you have a problem, A-hole! I ask you: Have you ever heard a bigger loser or hypocrite in your entire life? He can take the moral “high ground” while choosing which issues are valid and which shall be disregarded? Isn’t that what every single person on the face of the earth does? Apparently, one’s list must be O.K.’d by William Bennett before it can be accepted for common use. Thank God we have such moral compasses to guide us in the decisions we must make for ourselves every day.
