Truth or Consequences...

I received this e-mail from somebody named Ace Pumpkin, concerning my posting from 9/28 titled "News from the past":


It's funny, the Atta story has a left-wing version out that's less true than the right-wing one. Such a rare occurrence.

Aaron, thank you for your eye opening response. I'm not sure if you were refering to this story as the left or right-wing version. However, since I received the chain letter I've done some investigating myself. The part about Clinton releasing the terrorists is false, in that the name of the terrorist he had released was not Mohammed Atta, but was Mahmoud Atta. So the excuse is that he released a different terrorist with blood on his hands! Other people have told me that one name is the English translation of the other though....so the investigation shall continue.

The other part, about Oliver North's testimony to Congress, had enough truth in it to make one assume that the rest was true too. From what I can gather, the most important parts were false. I watched the testimony as it happened and that part about his home security system was replayed on the newscasts many times. The two important falsehoods being:
The terrorist he named was Abu Nidal, not Osama yo Mama...... and the Senator asking him the question was not Al Gore....but that part I was pretty sure was wrong.

As for my left/right-wing inquiry....I've been accused of both. My only interest is the truth .....I don't care if it falls to the left or the right. Please, Ace Pumpkin and all seekers of truth......accept this invitation to join
