Masters of War
I awoke Friday morning to Dylan's song, "Masters of War" being played on the radio and I already knew the news that was about to be given next. Our Congress has actually given it's permission to a maniac to reign war down where/whenever he sees fit. No further vote or debate is neccesary, all we need is the sayso from the imposter in the White House.
Dm
Come you masters of war
You that build the big guns
You that build the death planes
Cadd2 Dm
You that build all the bombs
You that hide behind walls
*)
You that hide behind desks
Cadd2
I just want you to know
Dm
I can see through your masks
You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly
The next item in the news was that the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Jimmy Carter. I can now continue to say that Jimmy Carter is the greatest Ex-President the United States has had in 200 years.
It's my greatest wish that we have many more Ex-Presidents to come, particularly the present one. Now, he may become our greatest Ex-President by virtue that he no longer would be the PRESident. But if we should live so long as to see that happen, rest assured he'll go back into the "business world" of the oil and weapon dealers he now serves.
Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain
You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud
