Quote:
"It is clear our nation is reliant upon big foreign oil. More and more of our imports come from overseas."
George W Bush —Beaverton, Ore., Sep. 25, 2000This man has a clear grasp on the situation. Yogi Berra couldn't have put it any better. We can all feel confident as the country follows this bozo down the path to oblivion. I'm reminded of Groucho Marx as "Rufus T. Firefly", the leader of Fredonia in the movie "Duck Soup".
Back in days of old, when knights were bold... and Bush, Chaney and Ashcroft were eligible to fight in Viet Nam, they had other things to do and used thier father's influences to make sure they were able to do them. It wasn't that they were against the war, because they were anything but....they just thought others should do the fighting. But now, ah suddenly they feel like going to war now....and in place of the poor schmiels that couldn't (or didn't want to!) get out of the terror of fighting for their lives 6000 miles from home, we go on the backs of their children.
However, guys like Collin Powell and Norm Schwartzkopf are not as keen on the idea. These are the guys that have seen war close up. They know first hand the misery that lies before us. Our only hope is if they can talk this maniac down from his bad trip. Otherwise we'll have to wait for the body bags to start coming home before we see enough moral outrage to stop this lunatic.
